Milwaukee Firefighters Deliver Coats to School Children at Stuart School

Stuart School students were the latest to receive a brand new winter coat of their own.

The deliveries made by the Milwaukee Fire Department which has been working since June to raise money for the "Warm Up Winter" initiative.

The firefighters were able to raise enough for 7,000 coats.

They made personal deliveries all week long.

"A gift of a warm coat is really about taking care of the children," explained MFD Chief Mark Rohlfing. "Getting them to school, so they can get a good education and go on from there."

Sure they're committed to protecting people and property, but it was heroics of a different kind from the Milwaukee Fire Department as we approach the holiday season.
