MILWAUKEE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee firefighters contained a multi-use building fire after responding to the scene multiple times on Saturday, Jan. 17.
The Milwaukee Fire Department (MFD) says they were called back to the scene near Chambers and MLK Drive around 9:45 p.m. last night, after being originally called to the building at around 4:20 p.m.
After handling it the first time, they were called back out for a fire on the second floor.
Deputy Chief Travis Jones says the building has been vacant since September.
"There was actually a fire in at that time all the utilities to the building were shut off," says Deputy Chief Jones. "We searched the building completely the first time we were here we found no occupants or remnants of anything or anybody living inside the building."
Deputy Chief Jones said the fire has been contained.
