Milwaukee families receive Easter support from Hunger Task Force and Palermo's partnership

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Palermo's Pizza and Hunger Task Force are joining forces on Friday, March 31 to distribute 500 "Easter Baskets for the Hungry" to local families in need at Hunger Task Force's facility at 5000 W. Electric Ave. in Milwaukee.

Distribution of the special holiday boxes began at 9:30 a.m.

The partnership between Palermo's and Hunger Task Force began in 2008 and has continued annually.

As part of the event, Palermo's volunteer employees packed the 500 large boxes with fresh and healthy Easter meal items, including a fresh ham, apples, carrots, potatoes, whole grain pasta and pasta sauce, breakfast cereal, Easter treats and Palermo's frozen pizza.

Hunger Task Force collaborated with its local pantry network to identify the 500 deserving families that received the Easter Boxes just in time for the holiday.
