Milwaukee Expecting $3 Million Boost from Anime Milwaukee Event
Anime Milwaukee (AMKE), Wisconsin’s largest anime and Japanese cultural event, will host its 10th annual event at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee and Wisconsin Center the weekend of February 17-19.
AMKE expects to welcome more than 10,000 attendees – many in the colorful costumes of their favorite anime characters – to downtown Milwaukee. The entire three floors of the Wisconsin Center are booked with vendors, artists, video game entertainment, programming and more than 20 special guests. Connected by skywalk, the Hyatt will also host events for AMKE attendees.
AMKE offers 24-hour entertainment for the duration of the convention, providing night owls and early birds alike with plenty of fun! This event features popular attractions, including the Masquerade, the Charity Ball in support of this year’s charity – the Milwaukee LGBT Community Center, the Rave, and new for 2017, a fashion show with designer MINT NeKO.
AMKE is a family-friendly event featuring activities for both kids and adults, like Children’s Programing, the Manga Library, and our exclusive Cosplay Combat Chess event.
VISIT Milwaukee estimates the economic impact of this event at $3 million.
