Milwaukee Drug Cartel

Milwaukee - Federal investigators made the announcement Wednesday afternoon at the Federal Courthouse in Milwaukee. Twenty-seven people have been indicted on charges of money laundering, drug trafficking, and homicide. Authorities say 40-year-old Kevin R. Arms organized the local drug cartel, and recruited family members including his 21-year-old son. The suspects are accused of distributing and transporting drugs including cocaine, heroin, and marijuana in Southeast Wisconsin for the past seven years.

Investigators say the suspects used the money to buy vehicles and properties to expand their operation. Authorities arrested seventeen people on Wednesday, and retrieved 31 firearms. Three of the suspects were already in custody. Seven of the suspects are still at large. Investigators would not give many details on the homicide that's connected to the organization. According to the indictment, the victim was killed on November 16th, 2008.
