MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- As we celebrate Women's History Month, we shine a light on one special woman, Dr. Joan Prince.
After a distinguished career of breaking barriers and providing an example for young women of color in Milwaukee, this past Sunday was her last official day on the job as vice chancellor of global inclusion and engagement at UW-Milwaukee.
On Tuesday, March 2, the Milwaukee Common Council honored her 20-plus years of service by declaring the day Dr. Joan Prince Day.
"I just want to say thank you, I am so proud to be from Milwaukee....don't get it twisted, I have moved out, but that doesn't mean -- Joany on the block is still in here, Dr. Prince said.
