MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office is outlining some steps for drivers if they are involved in an accident in the snow.
"If you end up in a ditch, turn your hazard lights on, stay in your vehicle and call 911. If you're involved in a crash and your vehicle is driveable, it's safe to drive it off the freeway at the nearest available exit," said Milwaukee County Sheriff's Deputy Inspector Daniel Hughes.
If your car is not drivable or you are injured, the Sheriff's Office says to turn on your hazard lights, stay in your car with your seat belt buckled, and call 911.
