Milwaukee Co. deputy dragged from stolen vehicle during traffic stop, driver sought

MILWAUKEE COUNTY (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee County deputy was injured Friday morning after being briefly dragged during a traffic stop.

Deputies responded to Milwaukee's lakefront after a Flock license plate registration camera alerted deputies to a stolen vehicle in the Northpoint parking lot. 

According to the sheriff's office, the vehicle fled the scene, briefly dragging the deputy who suffered scrapes and bruises.

The deputy was treated for minor injuries by the Milwaukee Fire Department.

Friday afternoon, the fleeing vehicle was found abandoned in an alley near Providence and Cambridge Avenues by UWM police. A male passenger was taken into custody and a firearm was found in the vehicle. 

The driver is still being sought.
