Milwaukee considered to host 2016 Democratic National Convention

MILWAUKEE -- It's not exactly a short list but Milwaukee is on it.

Mayor Tom Barrett is one of as many as three dozen mayors across the country who got letters asking if they might be interested in hosting the Democratic National Convention in 2016.

However, Milwaukee does not meet some of the minimum requirements established by the DNC for hosting.

Two of those are: at least a hundred sky boxes, the BMO Harris Bradley Center only has 68, and at least 25,000 hotel rooms.  According to Visit Milwaukee, there are only about 16,000 here in the greater Milwaukee area.
