MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- E.C. Sherman, an award-winning Milwaukee children's author, joined us on Wednesday, Jan. 21 with a look at how horses help children build confidence, compassion and courage.
Sherman shared her transition from teaching change leadership at the university level to writing children's books inspired by her granddaughter and her Friesian horse, Zeus. She discussed how working with horses unlocked life lessons that brought her Friesians and Friends book series to life.
Her debut book, "Zeus and Ziggy: First Friends," introduces readers to Ziggy, a curious girl, and Zeus, a majestic Friesian horse, capturing the magic of first friendship. The newest book, "Zeus and Ziggy: From the Ground Up," shows Ziggy learning that real growth starts on the ground through respect, communication and calm leadership.
