Milwaukee celebrates Black History Month with Black Holocaust Museum reopening

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Black History Month starts Tuesday, Feb. 1. This month will be filled with activities and cultural events honoring the long-neglected history of African Americans.

Here in Milwaukee, one of the highlights comes late in the month when American's Black Holocaust Museum reopens. The museum has operated as a virtual institution since 2012. Thanks to a generous grant it will be back in business as a physical facility after a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, Feb. 25. Afterward, you'll be able to visit the museum on 4th St. and North Ave. to learn about the struggle against racism throughout American history.
