Milwaukee Bucks to jazz up home games as auditions open for entertainment squads 🦌
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Bucks announced plans to hold auditions for the Bucks Entertainment Network's performance teams for the upcoming 2023-24 season. The teams recruiting new members are the 414 Crew, Bucks Rim Rockers, Bucks Grand Dancers and Young Bucks.
"Not everyone's going to get the chance to meet Giannis, but you're going to see the 414 Crew at every single game. You're going to see the Rim Rockers at every single game," said John Dereszynski, live programming and entertainment specialist with the Bucks. "We're kind of the fans' closest interaction to the Bucks."
The 414 Crew, a coed ensemble of performers aged 18 and older, will begin its virtual auditions on Friday, July 7. Dancers and tumblers of the 414 Crew display their talents on the court and act as ambassadors at events.
Registrants will receive choreography links at 10 a.m. and must submit videos by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 9.
Live callbacks and interviews will take place on Wednesday, July 19 and the week of July 24, respectively. Advanced registration, which ends on July 6 at 11:59 p.m., is mandatory.
The Young Bucks, a youth dance team for ages 7 to 13, will also hold virtual auditions starting on July 7, following a similar format as the 414 Crew. Live callbacks will occur on Tuesday, July 18, and interviews are scheduled for the week of July 24.
The Bucks Rim Rockers, a team of daredevils aged 18 and older, are known for high-flying trampoline dunks. Auditions for this team are set to take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 13 at St. Marcus School in Milwaukee.
Auditions for the Bucks Grand Dancers, a group for dancers aged 55 and older, are slated for 5 p.m. on Monday, July 17 at GATHER in the Deer District.
"Personality. Charisma. A friendly, welcoming attitude," said Deresznski, when asked what qualities they're looking for in potential applicants. "We have a wide variety of performers and entertainers, but one thing they all share in common is just being a good people person."
More information and registration links can be found on the Bucks' website.
