Milwaukee Bucks encourage northside neighborhoods to vote early

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Bucks continue to encourage the public to get out and vote early this election.

Team representatives, Bucks guard George Hill and Common Ground, a Milwaukee-based non-partisian organization, teamed up to canvas Milwaukee neighborhoods Saturday, Oct. 24.

They went through three neighborhoods on Milwaukee's northside knocking on doors to provide residents with voter information and encouraging them to vote early.

"I think getting out to vote, getting out to vote early and making sure your word means something means a lot not just for ourselves, but for the world," Hill said.

Common Ground members say they have committed to get 15,000 votes in Milwaukee while canvassing neighborhoods.

"We are ready to get out the vote. We are already taking people to do early voting and we have seen the lines," Common Ground board member and chair of Common Ground South Gabriela Dieguez said. "We invite everyone to vote early, to be patient, to be safe, and to vote."
