Milwaukee Bucks and Colectivo Coffee teaming up for a slam dunk Community Basketball Celebration 🏀

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Bucks Foundation and Colectivo Coffee have announced a partnership with Milwaukee Parks Foundation to host a Community Basketball Celebration. The event is slated to be a part of Milwaukee County’s Healthy County Challenge, which seeks to encourage community engagement and physical activity in the area’s parks.

The Community Basketball Celebration will be held at Atkinson Park from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 8.

Atkinson Park recently saw the restoration of its basketball courts thanks to a collaboration between the Milwaukee Bucks Foundation and Colectivo Coffee, who raised over $26,000 through the sale of Bucks in 6 Blend Coffee.

A Thursday, July 6 press release noted that Chris and Jennifer Abele matched this amount, culminating in the largest basketball court restoration project in Milwaukee County in decades.

The event will feature a Jr. NBA Clinic, beginning at 10 a.m., where young basketball fans can hone their skills under the guidance of the Milwaukee Bucks Director of Camps and Clinics. Skill-building activities such as dribbling techniques and shooting drills will be available.

Additionally, at 11 a.m., players are invited to grab the rock and participate in pick-up basketball games. The Ability Center will be present with accessible equipment, ensuring that players of all ages and abilities can partake.

To further enhance the atmosphere, DJ Shawna, Bango and the Rim Rockers will be making appearances with music and performances aimed at entertaining the attendees.
