Milwaukee Brewing Co. and Milwaukee Ale House up for sale

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Brewing Company and the Milwaukee Ale House are now for sale.

The owners made the announcement that offers will be accepted this month. A news release says New Mill Capital will conduct the offering process, focused on finding a strategic buyer for the assets and operation. 

The brewery was founded in 1997 and expanded into the alehouse on Milwaukee's riverfront. Over a decade later, they kegged their first brew at the 2nd Street location. 

“We put our heart and soul into this brewery, building it into the operation it is today,” said Jim Hughes, primary shareholder of Milwaukee Brewing Company. “We believe in the brewery and people who have been critical to our success but have made the decision to search for a strategic buyer to satisfy internal needs and secure the future of Milwaukee Brewing for decades to come.”
