The countdown to Brewers opening day is 55 days, but today marks the beginning of a long journey for certain members of the organization. 

It's an annual rite of late winter.

We've got snow on the ground, but there are some signs of spring at Miller Park.

Crews spent the morning loading the equipment truck at Miller Park.

Pretty soon the truck will leave for Phoenix for spring training.

Pitchers and catchers will report on the 19th.

"This is sort of one of the first rites of passage for spring, that tells our fans baseball is coming,” Rick Schlesinger said.

The first full squad workout will be on February 25.
