Milwaukee Brewers' 5K Famous Racing Sausages Run/Walk goes virtual

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Brewers Community Foundation's 22nd annual 5K Famous Racing Sausages Run/Walk will take place virtually this year, with the safety of the community in mind.

On Saturday, July 18, individuals and teams are encouraged to run 3.1 miles on their own and share their race day accomplishment via social media with #Sausage5K.

Those who would like to take part must register by July 15. Registration is $32 per person.

All proceeds benefit Brewers Community Foundation and all money raised supports Fischer House Wisconsin, which provides a home away from home for veterans and military families while their loved ones receive care at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center.

Each registrant will receive a commemorative T-shirt featuring the famous racing hot dog, a famous racing sausages run/walk completion certificate and a 25-percent discount off 2021 registration.

Teams also have the opportunity to register and raise money together, with a deadline of June 18.
