MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Department of Public Works has started its annual curbside Christmas tree collection, which runs through Friday, Jan. 31. Residents can place trees at their standard collection point, either in the alley or at the curb, for pickup by city crews.
To be collected, trees must be free of decorations and cannot be bagged. All collected trees will be shredded and composted.
Officials say that snow and ice control may cause delays in collection.
Residents also have the option to bring trees to designated Drop Off Centers during regular hours. Collection schedules and updates can be found by clicking here or by calling (414) 286-CITY.
