Milwaukee attorney offers $100K reward for information leading to arrest in Nancy Guthrie case
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The latest reward in the Nancy Guthrie case doesn't come from Arizona, but right here in Milwaukee.
Attorney Michael Hupy, who is also the president of Milwaukee Crime Stoppers, says he's putting up a $100,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case. Crime Stoppers allows callers to remain anonymous, which he believes could encourage people with information to leave a tip.
"We deter crime by letting would-be criminals know that if they commit a crime, they can be caught and they will never know who turned them in, and they will go to jail and the person who turned them in will get a reward," Hupy said.
With the reward, Hupy hopes to fix what he believes are flaws in the ongoing case in Tucson, as the search for Nancy Guthrie reaches its third week.
Savannah Guthrie posted an emotional message on social media Sunday, asking for her mother to be brought home.
"Whoever has her, or knows where she is, it's never too late to do the right thing," Guthrie said.
Eighty-four-year-old Nancy Guthrie was last seen on Jan. 31
