Milwaukee-area Veterans Day Events

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Several Veterans Day events are happening throughout the area. See some of those events below:

Veterans Day Ceremony: The Milwaukee VA Medical Center is hosting a Veterans Day Ceremony on November 10 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Milwaukee VA Medical Center Chapel at 5000 W. National Avenue in Milwaukee.

Veterans Day Ceremony – West Allis: On November 10 at 10:30 a.m. veterans are invited to come and be recognized during a community meeting, celebrating Veterans Day and honoring those who have served our country. The event is at Irving Elementary at 10230 West Grant Street in West Allis.

Veterans Day Appreciation: On November 10-12, the Harley-Davidson Museum will offer free Museum entry for all active military, veterans, and their families.* Learn more about Harley-Davidson’s military involvement during the Military Gallery Talks on November 11 and 12 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. MOTOR Bar & Restaurant and The Shop offer a military discount every day. Free entry with valid military or veterans ID for 1 additional adult and up to 4 children 18 years old or younger.

New Berlin Annual Veterans Day Ceremony: Mayor Dave Ament will conduct the City's Annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Friday, November 10th, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at New Berlin City Hall, 3805 S Casper Drive. The ceremony will include participation from the New Berlin Hoeppner Horn VFW Post 5716, the American Legion Post #488 and the New Berlin Community Band.  Mayor Ament invites all residents to attend this ceremony to honor those who have served our country.  If you are unable to attend, you may view the ceremony on local cable channel 25.

Annual Veterans Day Banquet:  At 5:00 p.m. on November 11, the Milwaukee County War Memorial Center  will hold its annual Veterans Day Banquet in Memorial Hall located at 750 N. Lincoln Memorial Drive in Milwaukee.

Military Appreciation Night: USO Wisconsin, a nonprofit organization serving thousands of military men and women, is hosting  Military Appreciation Night along with the Milwaukee Admirals at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena on Saturday, November 11. The Milwaukee Admirals will be taking on the Rockford Icehogs. Free ticket pick-up for military members and their families begins at 4:45 pm. the day of the event and runs until 6:15 pm. Salute to Our Veterans Event: Brookfield Square will be hosting a Salute to Our Veterans Event in center court on Veteran's Day, Saturday, November 11, 2017. The event will take place from 10:00am to 2:00pm at center court and include a flag presentation by local Boy Scout Troop # 594 with trumpeters from The Spirit of New Berlin West Band at 12:00pm. A raffle with donated items benefiting Stars and Stripes Honor Flight will also take place. All raffle proceeds will go to Stars and Stripes Honor Flight. Mall patrons may purchase tickets on the day of the event for $2.00 each for a chance to win raffle items.

Veteran’s Day Party with The Cheap Shots: 7:30 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. on November 11-12 at AJ’s Bar and Grill on Boxhorn Drive in Muskego. AJ’s Bar & Grill has offered to do a fundraiser for Fisher House Wisconsin on Veteran’s Day. The Cheap Shots (local band) will be performing. There will be raffles and a 50/50.

Milwaukee Admirals: For their 13th consecutive season  the Admirals will welcome all veterans and active military personnel with a ticket for themselves and immediate family members to their home game Saturday, November 11 at 6 p.m. against the Rockford IceHogs.

"This is always a special night for us to have these veterans and active military members enjoy one of our games," said Greenberg. "These men and women and their families have sacrificed so much and this is a very small token of our thanks to them for all they have done."

In addition, all veterans and active military personnel will receive 15% in the Arena Team Shop.
