Milwaukee animal rescue seeks artists for 'Pawcasso Gallery Night' fundraiser

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A local animal rescue organization is hosting a unique event to raise funds for Milwaukee pets.

Milwaukee Pets Alive (MPA) is looking for "big-hearted artists" who are willing to create and donate an original piece of artwork to be sold at its "Pawcasso Gallery Night" this April.

The event will raise funds for veterinary care, medication, food and supplies for the nonprofit's special needs and considerations animals.

MPA says the theme of the artwork should relate to companion animals in some way, but the sky is the limit. Art can be of any size and medium. Pieces should be original artwork that's ready to be displayed and sold at the event.

Submissions are due on April 14 and may be dropped off at South Shore Gallery and Framing from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays. MPA asks that artists include a suggested price and a name for the piece.

Pawcasso Gallery Night will be held at Broken Bat Brewing Company, located at 135 E. Pittsburgh Avenue in Milwaukee, on April 21.

Those interested in contributing a piece are asked to email [email protected] to confirm, or with any additional questions.
