Voting early for next year's elections will be a little bit easier in the City of Milwaukee.
The Common Council has put money into the budget for a total of 8 early voting sites for 2018.
That's up from three sites last year. At a news conference on Tuesday morning, voting rights advocates praised the council's action, saying it will allow more people to vote.
"The true success of it though will be measured by those who have the opportunity to use it. So I would hope that as we promote these sites, the days that they're open and the locations that people get out and vote and spread the word," said Ald. Milele Coggs of the Milwaukee Common Council.
The locations for those early voting sites have not yet been determined. We will update you when that information becomes available.
