MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Miller Park sales tax is expected to come to an end.
CBS 58 was the only local news station there as a vote came down to end the sales tax. The tax went into effect more than 22 years ago in five southeast Wisconsin counties.
It helped pay for construction and maintenance of Miller Park.
"This Board always worked hard to sunset this tax. Those that came before us and this current board, so it's been a long time," said Don Smiley, Board Chairman.
The sales tax was supposed to end years ago but a recession forced an extension.
The Board expects to have enough funds to retire the tax by March of next year.
