Severe storms cause damage across Milwaukee and Dodge counties
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- At midnight on Thursday, May 14, 'Midnight Pipers' played 'Amazing Grace' at several area police departments to honor fallen officers.
Usually, police officers would gather in Washington D.C. during Police Week to honor fallen officers. At the end of a candlelight service, traditionally, a Midnight Piper would walk through the memorial and play the bagpipes.
The tradition couldn't be carried on due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so the Greater Milwaukee Fire & Police Pipes & Drums decided to continue it at several departments in the Milwaukee area.
The @MilwaukeePolice Department were one of many agencies statewide that had a lone bagpiper play #amazinggrace for #fallenofficers. Very somber moment as the rain fell during the ceremony. @CBS58pic.twitter.com/Ckf5euzu9A
