Middleton house fire causes $700K in damage, no injuries reported

MIDDLETON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Dane County Sheriff's deputies responded to a house fire in Middleton on Monday, June 21.

Officials say it happened shortly after 3:30 a.m. in the 3000 block of Bay Laurel Lane. 

The first deputy on scene saw active flames in the attached garage, which quickly spread to the rest of the home.

The occupants of the home and the family pet self-evacuated and were located at a neighbor's house, officials say.

According to officials, the fire originated in the garage where two cars were parked. The home and two vehicles were a total loss. The damage is estimated to be $700,000.

There were no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
