MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Over the next five days, hundreds of area poker players will be going all in.
Tuesday, Jan. 28, marks the first day of the Mid-States Poker Tour event at Potowatomi Casino Hotel.
There are different games and different levels of entry fee or buy-in to attract all kinds of players this week.
Potowatomi Casino Hotel says since their poker room reopened after the pandemic, local excitement for the game has jumped.
"You are constantly seeing the number of poker players that are wanting to get into a table," said Jerry Saunders, Potawatomi Casino Hotel. "You can't walk into that poker room and see an empty seat, even in the middle of the day."
Tournaments run through Sunday, including the main event with a $500,000 prize pool.
There are seats open for games between now and Sunday.
