Late Afternoon Update: Ground level smoke lingers through Sunday, but we stay dry until Sunday evening
Updated: Saturday, July 15th 4:40pm:
The passage of a weak cold front is now bringing wildfire smoke down to ground level. This is making air unhealthy for sensitive groups in southeast Wisconsin while the air is unhealthy for everyone up north. Smoke will be near ground level for the rest of the weekend.
The smoke will prohibit any storms from forming this evening, which is good news for those going to the Foo Fighters concert, Bastille Days, or any other outdoor event.
Plenty of dry time is expected on Sunday, but chance for scattered storms will return by the evening.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58)--The 3 "H" weather, heat, humidity, and haze, all apply to this forecast through the weekend. We also have the chance, not all day though, for some showers and thunderstorms. Not everyone will see the activity though. So the best advice is keep an eye to the sky and on our free CBS 58 weather mobile app. I know there's a lot happening outside this weekend, especially with the Harley Homecoming and Port Fish Day happening Saturday in Port Washington. Expect temperatures to top out in the 80s too.
Poor air quality will also be an issue thanks to the wildfires burning in western Canada. So limit your time outdoors if you have breathing issues. Improvements should come into early next week as high pressure clears out the atmosphere. It looks like storm chances will increase by the middle of the coming week followed by a fairly quiet weekend next week. We need nice weather then for the Air and Water Show in Milwaukee.
