MEQUON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Even with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, supporting the arts remains a crucial task for local communities.
On Monday, the United Performing Arts Fund closed out its fundraising efforts with the 8th annual Dancing on the Green golf outing.
The event, held at North Shore Country Club in Mequon, brought together local business leaders and about 120 golfers.
What made this golf outing unique was that the golfers were treated to some entertainment while on the green, including music from UPAF members.
It's all to help the performing arts in a time when local arts organizations need support more than ever.
"These events are essential for two reasons -- one, they help us to raise dollars, which is critically important, and that's what we do, we're over $11 million so fun until midnight tonight. But they also provide awareness of the performing arts we have, we bring talent into this community," said UPAF president and CEO Deanna Tillisch.
This was also one of the final UPAF events for CEO Tillisch, as she plans to retire on Sept. 30.
