MFPD searching for theft suspect who "pretended to pay" in Target self-checkout lane

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Menomonee Falls Police are asking for help to find a woman they say left Target with a garbage can full of merchandise after pretending to pay for it in the self-checkout lane.

It happened on May 28 at the Target on Shady Lane in Menomonee Falls.

According to investigators, the woman scanned an old barcode for a product no longer carried by Target. The barcode didn't match the merchandise in the shopping cart and the woman pushed the cart out of the store without paying.
