Meijer stores contribute $80K to Milwaukee-area organizations
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (CBS 58) -- Meijer stores across the Milwaukee area have collectively donated around $80,000 to various local non-profit organizations. The donation is a part of the Meijer Team Gives program, which entrusts store employees with the task of selecting beneficiary organizations that resonate with local needs and values.
Sussex Meijer's contribution aids the Pewaukee American Legion Post 71 and Pewaukee PTO, focusing on veteran services and enhancing educational experiences. The Waukesha store allocated its funds to Prairie Elementary School and Project WisHope, assisting with educational and mental health services respectively.
Further contributions were noted in Wauwatosa, where Ignite the Spirit and the Milwaukee Rescue Mission were selected for their work with firefighters and the homeless. Oak Creek's donation supports veterans and historical preservation via the Military Order of the Purple Heart Service Foundation and the Oak Creek Historical Organization.
The Kenosha Meijer's donation boosts Women and Children's Horizons, aiding those impacted by domestic and sexual abuse.
Guardians of the Children and Habitat for Humanity are the recipients of the Grafton store's donation, while Greenfield's team made Starfish Foundation and Urban Ecology Center the beneficiaries of their donations.
