Meijer Celebrates Opening with Giveaway to Little League Teams

A new Meijer store opened up in Sussex on Tuesday.

Some area little league teams helped the store get in the swing of things.

Meijer hosted several teams from the Sussex and Lisbon area.

The store even gave them a little cash to spend on baseball gear or other sporting goods.

The store is also sponsoring some of these teams and presented a $25,000 check to Sussex Parks and Recreation to help fund a new fully accessible playground.    

“They're allowing us to spend some time and get some gear for the kids, and we just appreciative them being part of the community and helping the youth programs in the area,” said Greg Indestad, Sussex/Lisbon Youth Baseball.

The store in Sussex also features a Froedert Hospital "Fast Care" Clinic so people can come in for their less urgent medical needs.
