MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office says a correctional officer called medical staff for an unresponsive inmate in a pod located in the Milwaukee County Jail.
Medical staff performed CPR on the inmate and the Milwaukee Fire Department responded and continued life-saving efforts which were unsuccessful. The woman was later pronounced dead.
The Sheriff's Office says the woman was brought in to the jail on December 17 by the Milwaukee Police Department. An autopsy is expected to be performed Wednesday to determine the woman's cause of death.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office says District Attorney investigators were called to respond and the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department detectives are handling the death investigation.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office says a 46-year-old woman died in the Milwaukee County Jail.
The woman was pronounced dead at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday at 949 N. 9th Street.
An autopsy is expected to be performed Wednesday.
