MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A 75-year-old man has been arrested in Milwaukee after fatally shooting a woman who may have been trying to rob him.
Police responded to a report of a shooting on the city's north side Wednesday evening and found a 32-year-old woman with gunshot wounds. She died at the scene.
The 95-year-old mother of the man says her son was being attacked by three people on their front porch and that they were going through his pockets. The mother, Hazel Kendryx, says she took a handgun outside, but was too weak to shoot it, so she handed it to her son who fired the weapon, striking the woman who died.
Police arrested Henry Bell, who has not been charged, as well as the two others accused of attacking him.
