16-year-old dead after Tuesday night shooting near 47th and Burleigh

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police have released details about a fatal shooting that took place in the area near 47th and Burleigh on Tuesday, July 4.

MPD reports that the shooting took place at around 8:20 p.m. when a 16-year-old boy was shot and succumbed to the injury at the scene of the shooting.

The victim was originally believed to be a man in his 20s, but police confirmed early Wednesday morning that he was 16 years old.

He was identified Wednesday by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office as J'Shyne Clemons-Madison.
