20-year-old dead after fatal moped crash near 27th and Parnell

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Tuesday, Sept. 30 at about 9:30 p.m. near 27th and Parnell.

According to police, a vehicle traveling west on Parnell crashed with a moped. The moped rider, who has only thus far been identified as a 20-year-old, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody. Police said impairment does not appear to be a factor.

The investigation is ongoing, and charges will be reviewed by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.


MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County medical examiner was called to the scene of a fatal crash near 27th and Parnell Tuesday night.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, all lanes are closed in both directions on 27th Street between Ramsey and Grange Avenue.
