MCTS bus driver who rescued boy meets 6-year-old, mother

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – The Milwaukee County Transit System bus driver who helped a 6-year-old to safety met the boy and his mom on Friday.

Cecila Nation-Gardner spotted the boy walking through traffic near 35th and Vliet earlier this month.

She ran into the street, took his hand and led him onto her bus.

“I’m thankful because if it wasn’t for her, I don’t know where he would be right now,” The boy’s mother Cassandra Garrett said.

At the reunion, Nation-Gardner gave the boy a backpack filled with toys.
