MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) is investigating a fatal accident that happened on Sunday, Aug. 8 near 5th and Mitchell.
Police say a vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it collided with a tree around 5 a.m. The impact of the collision caused the car to start on fire with the the driver trapped inside.
MPD says the driver sustained fatal injuries. According to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office, the victim is an adult male.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office (MCMEO) said they are responding to a fatal car crash near 6th and Mitchell on Sunday, Aug. 8.
Officials say the victim is an adult male.
MCMEO said this is the fourth motor vehicle accident fatality this weekend.
Milwaukee police are investigating. This is a developing story and will be updated.
