MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- There were some familiar faces in attendance Monday, July 11 at the White House.
Mayor Cavalier Johnson and Milwaukee Senator Chris Larson were invited to the President's event highlighting the gun legislation milestone.
Larson tells CBS 58 he was proud to be there for the historic day but also echoed President Biden's call to keep working toward tougher gun laws in this nation.
"It's a huge deal that something got passed, but I would say that, you know, three quarters of the President's speech was devoted to what else needs to be done. By the end of it we were, I think everyone to a person was pretty devoted of getting out there and saying okay, we have to work harder to make sure that we have an assault weapons ban," Sen. Larson (D-Milwaukee) said.
Some Milwaukee activists were also at the White House lawn ceremony.
