Mayor Barrett Serves Breakfast at St. James Episcopal Church
A day after beginning his fourth term in office, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and members of his cabinet were serving up breakfast.
The gathering at St. James Episcopal Church is part of the mayor's giving back and building up Inaugural Week of Service a series of events this week aimed at serving Milwaukee residents and strengthening local neighborhoods.
“We wanted to make sure that during this inaugural week that we do everything that we can to reach into the community and so were here this morning to make sure that the people here know that city government cares about them as well,” said Barrett.
Thursday, the mayor will be exercising his green thumb by cleaning up and planting at several gardens throughout the city.
