MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett played host to more than 3,000 kids for the annual Safe Summer Brewers Game.
Kids got free hot dogs and sodas, and Natalie Young from the Hmong American Peace Academy got to throw out the first pitch at the game.
The kids have participated in one of three summer programs at local non-profits.
Mayor Barrett says he looks forward to the event each year.
"I want them to be acclimated to what's going on here, and again, for many of them they've never been to the ball park before," Barrett said. "Giving them this opportunity to see how much fun it is, I think is something for some of them they're going to remember this the rest of their lives."
Tickets were donated thanks to the Brewers Community Foundation.
