MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Struggling small business owners in Milwaukee got some good news at Thursday's coronavirus briefing.
Mayor Tom Barrett announced round two of the Business Restart Program.
It offers money to businesses with 20 or fewer workers and less than $2 million in annual revenue.
Companies that got money in the first restart can apply again, as long as they don't go over $25,000 total.
And this time, they can use the money for more than just protective equipment.
"Grantees can use money from this round of restarts for some rent and utility payments and winterizing outdoor spaces," Mayor Barrett said. "We all know winter is coming now that autumn is here officially, so it's only a matter of time."
New categories of small business are also eligible for grants this time, like food trucks, licensed day cares and home-based businesses.
