MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Some students at Milwaukee Area Technical College will get a helping hand thanks to Metallica.
The band has created the Metallica Scholars Initiative and it's sending $100,000 to MATC.
The initiative helps young people train for so-called "heavy metal" careers like automotive tech, truck driving, HVAC, welding and others.
The announcement of the grant puts it this way: "Metallica continues to use its global platform to speak out on the dignity of professional trades" and the colleges that prepare students for them.
