Marquette women's basketball adds Kayla Kleifgen to coaching staff 🏀
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A new addition for Marquette University's women's basketball team was announced on Wednesday, July 12.
Kayla Kleifgen is joining the Golden Eagles as an assistant coach. She joins the team after serving as part of Northern Kentucky's staff for seven seasons and will transition to Milwaukee with a that experience.
Head coach Megan Duffy expressed her excitement in a Wednesday press release, stating, "We are thrilled to welcome Kayla Kleifgen to our Marquette family. Kayla will immediately bring passion and enthusiasm to our program."
Duffy also noted that Kleifgen's work ethic and basketball knowledge will greatly enhance the Golden Eagles' performance.
As part of her role at Marquette, Kleifgen will focus on recruiting, player development of guards and scouting. Her past accomplishments include guiding Northern Kentucky to its first 20-win season at the Division I level in the 2019-20 season, a testament to her aptitude as a coach.
