Marquette WBB players honored

It’s been quite a year so far for the Marquette women’s basketball team. Having earned the number one seed in the BIG EAST Tournament, the personal awards are starting to roll in as well.

Senior guard Natisha Hiedeman was unanimously named BIG EAST Player of the Year – the second year in a row a Marquette player has won the award. Hiedeman was also the only player to be unanimously selected for the ALL-BIG EAST First Team. 

Also in on the fun is senior guard Allazia Blockton who won the BIG EAST Sixth-Woman Award and was named Scholar-Athlete of the Year. This is the second time Blockton has won the Scholar-Athlete Award making her one of three players in conference history to repeat.

Erika Davenport earned ALL-BIG EAST Second Team honors while Milwaukee native Amani Wilborn is on the ALL-BIG EAST Honorable Mention Team.

Marquette will start their conference tournament run this Sunday at noon against the winner of the Seton Hall and St. John’s game.
