MILWAUKEE - The Golden Eagles have two reasons to be thankful Thursday night; they picked up a key home win over Providence, and they didn't have to play overtime to get that win.
After three straight overtime games, Marquette ensured a regulation win by holding Providence to 14 points in the first half. Davante Gardner led Marquette with 14 points, while Jamil Wilson added 11.
Marquette moves to 12-9 with the win.
