Marcus Theatres records highest revenue for summer moviegoing season in company history
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Marcus Theatres announced it recorded its highest total revenue for the summer moviegoing season in company history.
The summer moviegoing season, defined as the first Friday in May through Labor Day, appealed to a wide range of audiences, according to the theater company. Hit movies included "The Devil Wears Prada 2," "Obsession," "Backrooms," "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," "The Odyssey," and "Toy Story 5" -- which had the highest opening weekend for an animated film since 2019.
“Our outstanding summer performance delivered numerous records and lots of happy moviegoers who enjoyed some of the best performing movies of all time on the big screen,” said Jeff Tomachek, president of Marcus Theatres. “The tremendous turnouts for a wide range of diverse films created unique memory-making moments for all audiences – from the tears to the laughter to the thrills and chills – that cannot be replicated at home. As we look ahead to the rest of the year, several new and highly anticipated films await, giving moviegoers even more reason to enjoy a great time at the movies with friends and family.”
