Marcus Performing Arts Center partners with TBEY for inaugural youth art exhibition 🎨
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --Â The Marcus Performing Arts Center is collaborating with TBEY Arts Center to host an exhibition to showcase the artwork of young artists.
The exhibition, the first of its kind in MPAC's history, features visual art from students aged 9-19, primarily from the Milwaukee Public School district. The artworks displayed include paintings, drawings, sculptures and mixed media pieces.
The exhibition commenced on Friday, June 16 and will run through Thursday, Sept. 21. It is located in the South Promenade of MPAC and is open for viewing during events. The installation debuted at MPAC's 18th Annual BASH gala fundraiser and will conclude with TBEY Arts Center's StarGazed Benefit Concert at 7 p.m. on Sept. 21.
Contessa Lobley, TBEY Executive Director, stated in a press release, "This is a historical moment for TBEY and an honor for our students. I am thrilled for them. It’s important for TBEY to showcase the incredibly talented young creatives in Milwaukee. And to be the first organization to collaborate with MPAC on an install of this kind is monumental."
