March Winds Make Themselves Known
Update as of 10:30am Tuesday...
The National Weather Service has extended the Wind Advisory until 7pm Wednesday for the entire viewing area. Wind gusts will stay high around 40 mph. With the wind, it'll feel much colder as well like readings in the 20s and 30s. It should stay quiet weatherwise. But snow is in the forecast into next week.
Tie everything down today. Wind gusts will be rather strong today. In fact we have
a Wind Advisory all day until 6pm at least. Look for wind gusts at least 45 mph. Winds really won't calm down until late Wednesday or early Thursday. Obviously, the wind will help bring down the wind chill numbers to the 30s and 40s. Keep in mind we were in the mid 60s around midnight!
Beside a few rain or snow showers into the evening hours, we should be pretty quiet weatherwise until early next week. While we could see a few flurries on Saturday, there's a better chance of accumulating snow on Monday. Obviously, it's too soon to talk about snowfall amounts. But you know the entire CBS58 Ready Weather team will be on top of the situation as we get closer.
Make sure, in the meantime, to download the free CBS58 weather app. This gives you a closer look at the radar and temperature trends the next 10 days. Also, send a picture of yourself when you first get out of bed. This will qualify you to possibly win a CBS58 Morning Mug.
