Man shot while trying to help robbery victims

MILWAUKEE-- Milwaukee police are investigating after a good Samaritan was shot while trying to help two women who had just been robbed.
The incident started on the 1500 block of N. Cass Street around 3:00 a.m. when two suspects took purses from a 26-year-old woman and a 30-year-old woman.
A 24-year-old man heard the women calling for help and chased the suspects to the 700 block of E. Lyon Street.
A struggle happened and one of the suspects shot the 24-year-old man.
Both suspects fled the scene and police are still searching for them.
The victim was taken to a local hospital. He is expected to recover.
