Man shot, carjacked after attempting to purchase car near 51st and Congress

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Police are currently investigating a shooting where they say a man was injured while trying to purchase a car.

It happened around 10:45 a.m. on Monday near 51st and Congress.

Police say that a 21-year-old man went to purchase a vehicle from the suspect who subsequently shot him and took his car.

The victim is being treated for what is believed to be a non-life threatening gunshot wound at a local hospital.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Milwaukee Police continue to search for a suspect.
